Dear One Winning Team,
I hope this letter finds you in the best of spirits.
The past few months have been difficult for everyone – our families, and many of us had fallen sick, and, in every aspect, we have to accept changes in our lives. Because we each have pre-existing mindsets formed by our life experiences and philosophical perspective, we’ll all process the outbreak differently.
As a team, we all adjusted our salaries and worked remotely to do our part in flattening the curve. We stood by Sheba during this time of crisis, and now we are back to business, moving forward with an agile leap.
Despite the vulnerable situation, we made every effort to hold to our commitments and have been transparent in our decision making. We introduced health insurance and also created an employee fund for precaution. Moreover, our P&O department has added more benefits for everyone under sPrime about which you can read in detail in this month’s newsletter issue. We are going to continue our team outings and cricket matches, and I encourage everybody to join.
It was a rewarding experience to hand over Eid gifts to the team personally, and I am glad we could send out Eid bonuses at a difficult time like this.
Many of you may have thought that there will be no annual performance reviews and appraisals this year. However, we have gone through the 3-month long process to analyze performances with our consultants’ involvement, and this year’s increment was up to 12%.
Sheba is a people’s organization, and I am proud of the culture we are building. We strive to be the best employers in town, and this belief became stronger further after we started taking surveys on the work environment here. I am delighted to see the results so far that 71.94% of you feel you received the right amount of feedback from your managers, and 96.10% feel excited to work here.
Furthermore, we have broken all our previous records – achieved a 40% growth in GMV and have a total number of 1.4 million users as of 2020. All our achievements happen as we move forward as a team.
At Sheba, we strive to recognize this and show appreciation towards the work you do, and we look forward to a few things this quarter. You must remember to think impact-oriented when planning and coordinating projects. Customer experience should be a top priority in our organization as we focus mainly on services, and finally, we all need to make the businesses profitable.
As winter approaches and we face the threat of a second wave in the pandemic, I want to remind everybody to stay safe and to show empathy towards your colleagues and community.
Just like the past few months, we shall overcome every hurdle, big or small, and remember:
“If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”
